Math Basics Reviewer's Comments

Math Basics, offered by KIDware, consists of 15 sections ranging from math facts to games such as “Rocket Man” for grades 1 – 6. This program teaches the four basic math operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division for whole numbers, fractions and decimals.


Ease of Use:  

Young kids could find it difficult to use this program by themselves and older children may struggle with certain aspects of the program.


Feature Set:  

Math Basics covers the four basic arithmetic operations adequately, through the various drills and games.


Educational Value:  

Math Basics uses repetitive drills to reinforce memorization skills in basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.


Kid Appeal:  

This program offers few entertaining features and may not appeal to young children who generally have a short attention span.


Help/Support:  

This program offers a FAQ section as well as an email address to send inquiries.


Installation:  

We did not encounter any problems while installing Math Basics.


Summary:  

Math Basics covers general math skills well; however, the program may be difficult for younger children to run on their own.
